  • Wow! Can't believe that I haven't posted in over a year! Well...yes i can.  Oh well.  Have been reading though. No one will probably will notice though, except my brother and one or two others of you that i do read regularly, if you post too!  Although i do Farmville religously!  Nothing going on.  Just can't wait to go to Myrtle Beach in a couple of weeks and get away from work.  Those people (co-workers and patients) really are getting on my nerves!  Really would like to do something exciiting.  Might go to Nats game next Tues. and see the kid pitch. Want to go to the casino-Charles Town WV. Boyfriend can't just take off from work-no vaca pay other than what we have planned for the beach. Oh well.

    Later!

  • Wow, has it really been almost 4 months since I posted?  I guess so.  I still read though, although, many of you don't seem to be posting very often.  I have a sneaky suspicion than some have defected to Facebook.  I do have an account over there i created when we were looking for my boyfriend's nephew when he went MIA.  Might have to go back over there and look around.

So, what's up?  Am definately ready and needing spring and warm weather.  Time changes next weekend and that will help.  My yard is full of sticky balls (can't remember technical name) and I can't stand it.  they need raking up, but i don't think my arms can stand it.  Gonna have to get out the riding mower out and try to suck them up in the bags.

Been having some physical ailments.  Mild seizures, which i thought were dizzy spells.  Am on medication which has some pain in the ass side effects--tingling in the fingers, toes and face, loss of appetite (which hopefully will help me lose weight which is a plus, but not really healthy), some diarrhea, and sometimes i get my words a bit mixed up and feel a bit off.  Also having some muscle weakness and having some tests done.  Hit 40 and fall apart.  What a bitch!

    A few bullets--like Birckhead!

-ready for baseball!--Go Nats! Go O's!  Boo Yankees!

-going to see A Chorus Line at the National Theater in a couple of weeks with Mom.  looking forward to that!

-going to see Elton John & Billy Joel at National's Stadium in July.  Will be great! Getting tickets was a bitch.  before they were even sold out by the original seller (tickets.com) the other outlets like stubhub were selling them at more than twice their face value.  should be illegal in my opinion.  i agree, if someone wants to sell their ticket, they should be free to do so, but i don't think there should be internet companies to do it for them at these outrageous prices before the original tickets are even sold out.  Something should be done.

-work sucks. need a raise. nursing is hard.

-at least nurses always can get a job

-if anyone is visiting or lives near D.C. go to National Harbor.  It's beautiful!  New things opening all the time. Now has a piano bar where i hear there are 2 pianos where 2 people play and engage the crowd to sing and request songs.  sounds really cool.  Last nite there was a line of people waiting to get in.  Very nice, upscale, safe area.

    -have a nice Sunday!

  • Wow, can you feel the excitement?  I got up at 3am just to turn on the tv and see who won!  Lines to vote were rediculous here in Maryland, people waited hours!  I left work at about 10:50 and drove the 23 minutes to my polling place.  I waited 25 minutes!  Am so proud to announce my 18 year old daughter voted in her first election.  I was afraid she would go, look at the line, say f___ this and leave.  Guess what?  She didn't have to wait AT ALL!  Can't touch that!   Got to go down town today,  D.C. is an exciting town really.

Hope Brother Birckhead and Laura have a safe trip to St. Louis.  I would love to get away.  Work sucks, but i haven't lost time that i thought i would from the construction.  The old hospital is looking pretty good...from the outside.  But my unit is moving up the 8 th floor soon, matter of fact, part of us may move today. Glad I'm off!

    Have a great day everyone!

  • I think Brother Birckhead is right, bullets are best:

-very sad about the death of Tim Russert.  folks in my house have always teased me about watching him on Sunday mornings.  Rest in peace.  Politics and Washington D.C. will never be the same.

-RIP George Carlin.  Was funny and insightful, even on Thomas The Tank Engine.

-daughter working at local vet.  LOVES IT!! working till 8pm.  Gotta love it!

-Jenny has reminded me of many wonderful vacations at Oglebay Park, Wheeling WV.  Must go soon.

-went to Kings Dominion last Thursday.  soreness from riding multiple rollercoasters multiple times finally gone. Man, i'm old!

-what's even more unbelievable, daughter and her boyfriend never left our side.  usually, teenagers leave you and only come around when they need money. right?!

-love Rachel Ray.  Was getting ready to make a grilled chicken marinated in beer and spices on the grill--recipe in her mag.  Grill ran out of gas and it started raining.  Put chicken in oven--still good!

-also made chocolate cupcakes from recipe in same mag.  need to ice.

-have been off 6 days.  going to work tomorrow.  shit.

-hospital installing new windows.  half of our floor closed.  will lose time & money.  shit.

-going to Jamaica July 5th for boyfriend's best friend's wedding.  Boyfriend is still Jamaican citizen.  You wouldn't believe the shit we have gone through to get him a new passport (which he lost in in the early 90's)  Had to order new birth certificate, then go to Jamaican embassy to apply for new passport.  New birth certificates cost $85 and replacement passport cost $170. Passport should arrive 2 days before we leave.  If not, maybe we can pick it up in Jamaica. Hopefully???!!!  Never mind trip costing $3300.  Oh well, once in a life time.  Happy hour will start as soon as the plane lands!  Even have free liquor in our room!  How great is that?!
